Backflow Preventer Inspection
CSA B64.10-certified testers · Annual testing · Municipal submission handled.
What is Backflow Preventer Inspection?
Backflow preventer inspection is the annual certified test of every backflow assembly on your property — the devices that protect the municipal potable water supply from cross-contamination by your fire sprinkler, irrigation, boiler and process water systems. Most Ontario municipalities (Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton, Ottawa, Vaughan and more) require annual testing by a CSA-certified tester and direct submission of results.
First National Fire Protection provides backflow preventer inspection on RP, DCVA and PVB assemblies of every line size, using calibrated test kits and CSA B64.10-certified testers. We complete the testing, file the paperwork and submit the results directly to your municipality — you never chase forms.
Where an assembly fails, we rebuild or replace it on the same visit so the system goes back into service immediately and your municipal compliance window stays clean.
Every Backflow Preventer Inspection Visit Includes

Calibrated Test Kits
Annually calibrated differential-pressure gauges used on every test — accepted by every Ontario municipality.
Municipal Submission

Rebuild & Repair
Failed assemblies rebuilt or replaced on-site by certified testers so service is restored same day.
Cross-Connection Survey

Annual Reminder Service
Automated reminder so you never miss your municipal annual deadline.
Ontario Fire Code & Insurer Requirements
The Ontario Building Code, CSA B64.10 and local municipal cross-connection by-laws all require annual backflow preventer inspection on every commercial property connected to municipal water. Missing the deadline can result in water shut-off, fines and significant liability if a contamination event occurs.
Toronto Municipal Code Ch. 851 and equivalent by-laws in Mississauga, Brampton, Ottawa and across Ontario mandate that the certified test report be submitted by the property owner annually. Our backflow preventer inspection program handles the entire submission process.

Annual backflow preventer inspection due? We test, file and submit.
“We had an unexpected city inspection at one of our short-term rental properties and discovered our fire safety systems were not up to code. First National Fire Protection responded immediately and was on-site within days. The service was thorough, informative, and efficient — exactly what we needed under pressure. We'll be using them for all annual inspections, repairs, and maintenance going forward. Highly recommend.”
