Fire Alarm Inspection
CFAA-certified technicians · CAN/ULC-S536 compliant · Same-day digital reports.
What is Fire Alarm Inspection?
A fire alarm inspection is the annual life-safety verification that proves your detection, notification and signalling system will perform when it's needed. Under the Ontario Fire Code, every commercial, industrial, multi-residential, retirement and institutional building is required to have its fire alarm system inspected at least once a year by a CFAA-certified technician — and to keep those records on site.
First National Fire Protection delivers end-to-end fire alarm inspection across Ontario. We test every initiating device, every notification appliance, every panel function and every supervisory signal to CAN/ULC-S536, and we hand you an AHJ-ready report the same day. No subcontractors, no missed devices, no surprises at re-inspection.
From a single panel in a small commercial unit to multi-building portfolios with networked addressable systems, our certified team handles the full scope of fire alarm inspection so your building, your tenants and your insurer are protected.

Ontario Fire Code & Insurer Requirements
The Ontario Fire Code adopts CAN/ULC-S536 and requires annual fire alarm inspection for every system across the province. Failure to inspect — or a failed inspection left unaddressed — exposes the owner to fines under the Fire Protection and Prevention Act, insurance non-renewal, and personal liability if an undetected fault causes harm.
Most commercial insurers in Ontario require a current fire alarm inspection certificate as a condition of coverage. Without it, claims can be denied. Our reports are formatted for direct submission to your AHJ and your insurance broker.

“We had an unexpected city inspection at one of our short-term rental properties and discovered our fire safety systems were not up to code. First National Fire Protection responded immediately and was on-site within days. The service was thorough, informative, and efficient — exactly what we needed under pressure. We'll be using them for all annual inspections, repairs, and maintenance going forward. Highly recommend.”
