Kitchen Hood Suppression Installation
NFPA 96 & 17A compliant · New fit-outs, upgrades & full system replacements · All major brands.
What is Kitchen Hood Suppression Installation?
Kitchen hood suppression installation is the design and certified installation of the wet-chemical fire suppression system that sits above your cooking line. Every new commercial kitchen in Ontario — restaurants, hotels, hospital and school cafeterias, ghost kitchens, food courts — needs a listed system installed and inspected before the kitchen can operate.
First National Fire Protection designs and installs kitchen hood suppression systems across Ontario in every major platform: Ansul R-102, Amerex KP, Pyro-Chem Kitchen Knight, Kidde Piranha and Range Guard. We size the nozzles for your specific appliance lineup, install the fusible-link detection line, interlock the gas valve and electrical shut-off, and commission the system for AHJ sign-off.
Upgrading an old dry-chemical or non-compliant system? Our kitchen hood suppression installation team handles full system replacements with minimal kitchen downtime.

Ontario Fire Code & Insurer Requirements
NFPA 96 and the Ontario Fire Code prohibit operation of a commercial cooking line without a listed and inspected wet-chemical suppression system above it. AHJs will not sign off on a new fit-out, and your insurer will not bind coverage, without a compliant kitchen hood suppression installation.
Upgrading an obsolete or non-listed system is one of the most common AHJ-driven projects in Ontario food service. Our kitchen hood suppression installation team works around your service hours to minimize closure time.

“We had an unexpected city inspection at one of our short-term rental properties and discovered our fire safety systems were not up to code. First National Fire Protection responded immediately and was on-site within days. The service was thorough, informative, and efficient — exactly what we needed under pressure. We'll be using them for all annual inspections, repairs, and maintenance going forward. Highly recommend.”
