Fire Safety Plan Inspection
OFC Section 2.8 compliant · Site-specific plans · Approved by your local Chief Fire Official.
What is Fire Safety Plan Inspection?
Fire safety plan inspection is the annual review of your building's site-specific Fire Safety Plan against the current Ontario Fire Code, current occupancy, current staffing and current floor layout. Every commercial, industrial, multi-residential, retirement, long-term care and institutional building above the OFC threshold is required to have an approved plan — and to keep it current.
First National Fire Protection develops, reviews, updates and submits Fire Safety Plans for approval by the local Chief Fire Official. We write site-specific plans (not template documents), produce code-compliant floor plans and evacuation diagrams, and train your supervisory staff on their roles.
Our annual fire safety plan inspection service keeps your approval current — every plan reviewed against the latest OFC amendments, every fire drill recorded, every staffing change reflected. Mandatory for retirement homes under the RHRA and for every care occupancy in Ontario.

Ontario Fire Code & Insurer Requirements
OFC Section 2.8 requires a written, site-specific Fire Safety Plan for every commercial, multi-residential, industrial, retirement and institutional building above the threshold size, and requires that plan to be reviewed annually. The plan must be approved by the local Chief Fire Official before the building is occupied.
Out-of-date or template plans are routinely rejected by AHJs and create direct liability exposure for property owners. Our fire safety plan inspection service keeps your plan current, approved and defensible.

“We had an unexpected city inspection at one of our short-term rental properties and discovered our fire safety systems were not up to code. First National Fire Protection responded immediately and was on-site within days. The service was thorough, informative, and efficient — exactly what we needed under pressure. We'll be using them for all annual inspections, repairs, and maintenance going forward. Highly recommend.”
