Emergency Lighting Repair
Same-day repairs · Battery, lamp, charger and full unit replacement · Exit signage upgrades.
What is Emergency Lighting Repair?
Emergency lighting repair is the corrective work that clears every deficiency on your monthly and annual emergency lighting inspection — failed batteries, blown lamps, dead chargers, non-compliant exit signs and units that don't hold the required 30-minute discharge. Each one is a code deficiency under the Ontario Fire Code.
First National Fire Protection performs emergency lighting repair across Ontario on every type of unit — sealed lead-acid, NiCd, lithium and central battery systems. Our technicians carry replacement batteries, lamps, chargers and complete unit assemblies on every truck, so most repairs are completed on the first visit.
We also handle exit-sign upgrades to the current ISO 7010 'running-man' pictograph as part of the same emergency lighting repair scope — keeping you compliant with the 2026 OFC amendments.
Every Emergency Lighting Repair Visit Includes
Battery Replacement
Failed standby batteries swapped with manufacturer-spec sealed lead-acid, NiCd or lithium units.
Lamp & Head Replacement
Burned-out lamps, failed LED heads and damaged remote fixtures replaced on-site.
Charger & PCB Repair
Failed charger boards and control PCBs replaced with listed manufacturer parts.
Full Unit Swap-Out
End-of-life units replaced with new code-compliant battery packs and remote heads.
Exit Sign Upgrades
Non-compliant exit signs replaced with ISO 7010 'running-man' pictograph signage.
Logbook Closure
Every repair logged against the deficiency, with photos and final discharge re-test.
Ontario Fire Code & Insurer Requirements
A failed emergency lighting unit is a direct Ontario Fire Code deficiency. The unit must be repaired or replaced and the logbook must reflect the closure. Fire prevention officers will often re-attend specifically to confirm repair completion.
Insurers expect documented emergency lighting repair for any deficiency identified in a monthly or annual test — undocumented faults compound at claim time.
